What SLAP collects
SLAP is built to collect as little as the product can run on.
- A phone number, used only to sign you in via a one-time code. This is your identity in SLAP; there is no separate username or email.
- A display name you choose (1–24 characters). Not required to be your real name.
- A confirmation that you passed the age gate. SLAP never stores a birthdate — only that the check happened.
- The daily limit you set, in minutes.
- A percentage of that limit, reported by Apple's Screen Time framework when you cross a threshold you set. SLAP never learns which app you were in, for how long, or where you were — Apple does not give apps that information, and SLAP has no way to ask for it.
- Squad membership: which squads you're in, who's in them with you, and whether your shield is on. Turning your shield off is never shown to anyone else in the squad.
- In-app purchases: coins bought, verified against Apple's own receipt. SLAP never sees your payment details — Apple handles those directly.
- Reports you file against another user, if you file one. The person reported is never told.
What SLAP does not collect
No app names, no session durations, no location, no contacts, no photos, no microphone or camera access, no advertising identifier, no birthdate.
Who can see what
- Your squad can see your name and your percentage-of-limit status (under / fair game / shielded / paused) — never anything more granular.
- Nobody outside your squads can see anything about you.
- Blocking someone is invisible in both directions: the person you block is never told, and nobody can see who blocked them.
- SLAP staff can see what's needed to run the service and respond to reports.
Data retention
Daily usage percentages and timezone-change history are kept 90 days and then deleted automatically. Deleting your account removes your profile and everything tied to it immediately and irreversibly — there is no "soft delete" or recovery window.
Children’s privacy
SLAP is intended for teenage users managing their own device, not for children under the app's stated minimum age. SLAP does not knowingly collect more personal information from a younger user than from anyone else — the same minimal fields apply to every account, regardless of age, because the schema itself has no column to put extra information in.
